School Links

For several years there have been strong links made between the Floral Team and Teachers, pupils and the PTA of St. Martin’s Primary School. These links have strengthened recently and this year help has been provided for an extension of the Woodland Copse, started last year by Vanessa Crispini-Adams as part of The Little Tree Project”.

80 trees were planted on Thursday 15th April 2010, and this year another 100 tree ‘whips’ will be planted and in 2011 another 100 trees were planted on Saturday 26th March as part of the national “Little Project”.

In addition to the help and organisational skills of Vanessa Crispini-Adams, we liaise closely with Year 3 teachers, Martine Stewart, Steve Hutchison, and Year 3 co-ordinator Sandra de Sousa. Jennie Jerome also helps with the School Gardening Club who plant up the various planters around the School area.

This year it is hoped to develop two major projects – a special all weather track around the playing field and a new pergoda and garden area is to be developed close to the school.
