Liberation 80th Celebrations 2025

The celebration for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation brought together the community in a way that shows how important our “national day” still is.

The parish primary school held a hot lunch for the 500 children with the Douzaine and Constable as guests and it was the first opportunity to show off the float for the cavalcade the following day. The float was in the design of the school and had the names of the hundred children evacuated from the school in 1939 and was driven by Ben Gregg the Dean of the Douzaine in the cavalcade.

May 10th was the party in the Queens Hotel Garden with over a thousand attending enjoying a Hog roast, live music, a magician, face painter and the bubble lady, giving a great community spirit and it show how proud the people are of their parish .
